Therapy

Synergy Youth Treatment takes your son’s individualized treatment plan and turns it into reality through utilization of a strength based approach. Therapy interventions at Synergy encourage your son to confront, acknowledge, accept, and then redirect his presenting issues. A close, working therapeutic relationship with Synergy’s skilled clinicians is promoted and encouraged. This close interpersonal relationship between your son and Synergy’s staff helps your sonwork his way along his healing journey. It also encourages openness, fosters positive communication, and helps build your son’s personal confidence.

Building upon Strengths

Simultaneous with the establishment of this positive therapeutic rapport, Synergy staff works with your son to help him identify his strengths, interests, and talents. If your son struggles in this identification process, he will be encouraged to participate in activities specifically designed to help him discover these hidden aspects of his life. Once identified, these elements form part of the base for the personalizing of your son’s treatment plan and goals. With your son as a participant, and with careful assessment of your son’s progress, this treatment plan is re-evaluated and modified weekly. In the treatment plan, care is taken to identify specific activities that your son may participate in that foster development of his individual interest, talents and strengths. These positive experiences help your son gain recognition of his self-worth and helps to build his personal confidence. By utilizing this highly individualized strength based approach, Synergy provides your son with the tangible skills he will need to go home and be successful in sustaining a lasting change.

Therapy

Synergy offers individual and family therapy one to two times weekly, group therapy three times weekly, and live-in staff house meetings daily. Additionally, when your son struggles, he will be immediately redirected by the live-in staff and/or his therapist. Through this immediate response your son will learn to effectively confront, identify and communicate, in a positive way, his physical and emotional needs. Your son’s therapist facilitates this process by helping him acquire and practice the needed cognitive behavioral coping skills to assist him in handling these personal struggles.
